Featured Veteran - Mr. Charles Sullivan
Charles and Donna Sullivan were married on April 6, 1972. They purchased their home in Holyoke in 1977 and raised a son and daughter there. They have four grandchildren….their son has two children and their daughter has two. The grandchildren’s ages range from 5-17.
Mr. Sullivan served in the US Army in Vietnam “boots on the ground” for two years.
Mr. Sullivan was born and raised in Holyoke and graduated from the Holyoke Trade School focusing on printing. He started working in letter press and then promoted to offset printing. He worked most of his life at Sterling Press in Westfield until they went out of business and closed in 1999. He then went to work for AM Litho in Chicopee until he retired.
His wife Donna had difficulty holding a job outside of the home because of a medical condition, suffering from epilepsy. She cared for and raised their two children.
Sadly after a long illness and battle with cancer, Donna passed away in July of this year.
There have been so many “To Do” items around the house that Mr. Sullivan put off because he was caring for her.
Mr. Sullivan has given so much time serving our country and caring for his wife.
It is OUR time to serve him!
