3rd Annual #JoinedForces Veterans Breakfast Fundraiser

MassMutual Center, Springfield, MA


Registration and breakfast are free. Day-of donations are welcome as this is a fundraising event for local veteran home projects.


This event is in collaboration with BusinessWestHealthcare News and Inspired Marketing


All #JoinedForces guests are invited to attend the

Business & Innovation Expo of Western Mass immediately following the breakfast.

2017 Featured Veteran: Mr. Lonnie Chappell

Lonnie served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 20 years including the Vietnam War. Lonnie suffers from diabetes and suffers from the results of being exposed to Agent Orange in Vietnam. He is unable to take care of himself and cannot walk without assistance. Mary has been forced to leave her job in order to take care of Lonnie. They have so many medical bills, they have been unable to complete repairs on their home.


Their home is need of: repairs to the heating system that not working, replace the leaking roof, repair the window casings that has rotted creating drafts, repair the back steps, modify the bathroom to make it accessible for Lonnie, new energy-efficient appliances, interior and exterior painting, pest control, and landscaping.


The Blue Crew on Service Day – Wednesday, September 20, 2017 will install energy-efficient storm doors, paint the interior and exterior, repair the fence and back steps, and landscape. A flagpole will be installed so that later in the day the flag can be presented to Mr. Chapell and raised with an Honor Guard. Blue Cross Blue Shield employee, Beth Gooch will sing the National Anthem.


It is OUR time to serve him!


On Wednesday, September 20, 2017, we will

  • Repair the heating system 
  • Replace the leaking roof
  • Repair the window casings that have rotted, which is creating drafts
  • Repair the back steps
  • Modify the bathroom to make it accessible for Lonnie
  • Install new energy-efficient appliances
  • Interior and exterior painting
  • Pest control
  • Landscaping
